THE WHY

The team aimed to develop a mobile app that enables merchants to accept card payments directly on their phones, making transactions more flexible and cost-effective than traditional, expensive POS systems.

The solution had to incorporate their existing account-to-account transfer system and offer a frictionless onboarding and checkout experience.

Through in-depth interviews with small merchants, we identified critical pain points in the onboarding and daily usage of traditional POS systems.

Merchants found the process paperwork-heavy, time-consuming, and dependent on outdated terminals with high fees and maintenance costs.

THE WHAT

We reimagined onboarding to happen entirely within the app, reducing steps by grouping them logically and pre-filling fields where possible.

Progress is tracked in a clear, linear progression to minimise cognitive load, with interactive tables, fields and animations providing clarity and guidance.
